Gift Guide for a Cook

Tis the season for the holidays and gift giving part of the year. My husband and I have officially cancelled our Holiday get togethers with our loved ones due to COVID, however, we’re still planning on our gift exchanges and opening them together virtually with friends and family. With the circumstances of our new normal, the holiday spirit is still in the air, we’ll just have to celebrate it from afar. So if you’re looking into what gifts to provide for the loved ones in your life, I’ve got just the guide for you.

I’m the main cook in the house and a hoarder of kitchen and dining related items, which is one of the main reasons why I never have enough space in my kitchen. Many of these items I either items that I already have in my kitchen or on my current wishlist for the holidays.

1. Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet | 2. Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Griddle | 3. Cast Iron Wok | 4. 6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven | 5. Silicone Cooking Utensils | 6. Instant Pot | 7. Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls | 8. Crock-Pot | 9. Spice Jars | 10. Baking Sheets | 11. Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Grill Pan

Cast Iron Skillets – For starters I love a good cast iron skillet. The first cast iron skillet that my husband and I ever bought was the Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet for the purpose of cooking on our family camping trip. Little did we know what how much we would fall in love with it due to its versatility and durability. Not only have we taken this cast iron on several more camping trips but we’ve also use it as a staple cooking ware in our daily use. We cooking everything from eggs to pancakes, steaks, or even just warming up food. An additional benefit to cast iron skillets is the iron intake to your diet. I love this cast iron skillet so much that I have a wishlist of collecting more cast iron cookware such as Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Griddle, Cast Iron Wok, 6 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven, Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Grill Pan.

Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls – I actually have a set of stainless steel mixing bowls that I use for everything.. A variety of sizes for just the right job of whisking eggs, mixing cake batter, marinating meat, or mixing salad. The stainless steel makes it versatile especially if you need to use the bowls over heat, for example, to melt chocolate, make ice cream custard, or make chocolate ganache.

Baking Sheets – are also another must have item for any cook’s kitchen. I’m not much of a baker but I’m most definitely have a savory palate and will find myself roasting sausages in the oven on these Baking Sheets. Also, have you ever roasted bacon in the oven ON Baking Sheets? If not, you’re missing out. I’m all about being efficient in the kitchen and who has time watching bacons cook on a stovetop, not I! I usually lay out all of the bacon strips on a large baking sheet and bake it at 425 degrees F. It’s get real tender and crispy, my teenage son says my bacon tastes the best.

Spice Jars – I’m sure any cook in your life will have cabinets or shelves full of spices and sauces. I actually have these square glass Spice Jars and funny enough I thought that a set of these Spice Jars would be sufficient but I was really wrong. I ordered a second one and just recently did a second round of organizing my spices and come to find that I’m going to need to order a third set of these Spice Jars. Do yourself a favor and gift the cooks in your life Spice Jars to help them organize their kitchen.

Kitchen Appliances – I hoard kitchen appliances. I really do. I pretty much have all of the main kitchen appliances such as a Crock-Pot, Blendtec Blender, Immersion Blender, Waffle Maker, and so forth but the one thing that I don’t have yet is an Instant Pot to mainly experience pressure cooking – definitely on my wishlist as well.

Silicone Cooking Utensils – these are definitely the trend of cooking utensils to hop. These Silicone Cooking Utensils come in a variety of color but I absolutely adore the color white as it adds that clean and modern look. This item is on my wishlist as well, as if I don’t have enough cooking utensils already, but I don’t have these Silicone Cooking Utensils.
